Bring your story to life!

Video creation has been a lifelong passion of mine. My journey into the world of videography kicked off with some tinkering on our family's first laptop back in the early 2000s. It was the age of experimentation, where I'd round up friends to shoot Star Wars parodies, music videos, and all sorts of goofy, fun content—simply because it brought me joy!
As life unfolded, that initial love took on various forms. In college, I came to understand the pivotal role that video plays in amplifying marginalized voices and telling untold stories. Since 2015, I've been behind the lens, capturing and editing footage in rural Southeast Haiti alongside the remarkable nonprofit, Love Haiti. Additionally, over the years I've collaborated with several churches and organizations in the Kansas City metro on various video projects, channeling my skills to craft videos that resonate deeply with their mission and community. It's been a journey of passion and purpose, and I'm excited to bring that same energy to your visual storytelling needs!
My wife Caroline and I currently live just outside of Kansas City with our floof and two kitty cats. Oh - and we're also welcoming a tiny human person into the world next year!
The beautiful Caribbean country of Haiti has influenced my life, both as a human being and a videographer, more than any other place in the world. Having spent a year of my life traveling throughout the country and working with Haitian communities through the non-profit organization Love Haiti, I came to cherish the culture, language, and spirit of this amazing place.
There's a proverb in Haitian Creole that goes: piti piti zwazo fè niche," or, "little by little the bird builds its nest." The adage recognizes that life is a journey we are all on that moves forward one step at a time. Little by little, with each day, we learn from the world around us and take insight from all different walks of life to make us who we are. It takes patience, perseverance, and a healthy dose of imposter syndrome to truly grow and continue to "build your nest."
Zwazo technically just means "bird" in Haitian Creole. But it also references, as in the case of Zwazo Film, something much more meaningful. It helps remind us that nothing worthwhile happens instantly; it happens "little by little." Give yourself some grace and love as you try to figure life out!
Your first step is to send us a message about your project. We can give you a quote and also point you in the direction of your next steps.

I've been professionally involved with various types of videography projects and endeavors since 2015.
(unless you count making lip-sync videos with my sister when I was in preschool. in that case - since the late 90s.)
We're not quite there yet! Our goal is to have a vast array of camera equipment someday to provide genuine film footage to our clients. Currently, all of our shoots are digital, but we can do plenty of things in post-production to give your video that antique film look you might be going for!
